Stargate Hydrogen Solutions has received a grant agreement to demonstrate a full hydrogen value chain through an offshore wind energy project in the Canary Islands.
The grant agreement was signed with the European Commission under the Horizon Europe programme, which will see Stargate be granted €3m ($3.2m), covering the delivery and installation of its 1MW electrolyser system.
Coordinated by the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN), the project will receive €10.7m ($11.6m), utilising renewable energy from a 6MW offshore wind facility to produce green hydrogen via an electrolysis unit.
