SSE and EET Hydrogen have revealed plans for a new 40MW green hydrogen production project in Ellesmere Port, that will supply hydrogen to industrial offtakers in the UK northwest.
Located at the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex, the Gowy Green Hydrogen project could come online as early as 2028, according to the energy firms.
With feasibility studies already completed, the pair are now working on design and site investigation works, with a planning application expected to “move forward” in 2025, ahead of a final investment decision (FID).
