Sustainable Pipeline Systems (SPS) is developing a mobile automated spiral wound intelligent pipeline system that incorporates spiral wound sensor technology.
The MASiP system is undergoing trials at DNV GL Spadeadam including a flow loop to evaluate durability and fitness for purpose for hydrogen gas service in collaboration with National Grid.
The system is a genuinely holistic approach combining the benefits of automated field construction of pipelines with digital monitoring build into the structure of the pipe, SPS said.
As a further development, SPS is pleased to announce that it has placed a new contract with fibre optic sensing specialists, OptaSense, to deliver development trials designed to exploit our embedded helical fibre optic cable to digitally monitor lengths of MASiP.
