Splitwaters and Topsoe have agreed to develop numerous production facilities focused on green ammonia, e-methanol and more.
The planned facilities will use alkaline electrolysers to produce hydrogen and implement the Danish firm’s technology for backend fuels and chemicals production. H2 View understands the sites will be located in the US, Europe and Asia.
With Splitwaters managing the projects and using Topsoe to leverage design principles, they aim to streamline processes and reduce CAPEX by up to 30%.
Topsoe will act as the licensor of the process plant technology as part of the collaboration, including ammonia, methanol and other electro fuels including SAF.
Henrik Rasmussen, Managing Director for Topsoe Americas, claimed the projects are of “significant importance” to both companies.

In April (2024), Splitwaters agreed to provide EPC services for Akna Energy’s 20MW green hydrogen plant in Louisiana, the US, which is anticipated to produce more than three million kilogrammes of green fuel per year.
