Solaris has announced it has received an order for 130 hydrogen-powered buses from the municipal public transport operator in Italy, TPER.
Solaris will deliver 127 units of the Urbino 12 models to TPER Bologna and another three units for TPER Ferrara, with the option to extend the order by an additional 140 vehicles.
The two Italian cities are working towards achieving ambitious goals of transitioning urban public transport to entirely zero-emissions by 2030, expected to see the benefits of the buses by 2024 with the first batch of 37 units being delivered and the rest anticipated for 2025 – 2026.
