Four hydrogen mobility projects are set to be boosted by more than $1m of Southern California Gas (SoCalGas) funding as the US utility takes steps to bring the clean technology to market.
SoCalGas on Monday (8th Feb) said the $1.3m of funding could provide emissions-free transport for railways and at ports in California and around the world.
The funding will help bring to market innovative clean hydrogen technologies, including fuel cell marine vessels, hydrogen refuelling stations at ports and fuel cell locomotives.
“Projects like these have the potential to create more zero-emissions transportation and reduce the cost of hydrogen fuelling infrastructure, consistent with California’s climate goals,” said Neil Navin, Vice-President of Clean Energy Innovations at SoCalGas.
