SK Plug Hyverse completes construction of liquid hydrogen bus refuelling station

SK Plug Hyverse has completed the construction of a liquid hydrogen refuelling station that will supply the energy carrier to local commuter buses.

Set up in Icheon, Gyeonggi-Do, the SK E&S and Plug Power joint venture station is equipped with a four-tonne liquid hydrogen storage tank, a cryogenic pump and two refuelling dispensers, offering up to 120kg of hydrogen per hour.

With plans to convert over 2,000 existing fossil-fuelled buses to hydrogen by 2026, the installation will service SK Hynix’s hydrogen commuter bus fleet operating on the semiconductor firm’s Icheon Campus.
