Siemens has today revealed plans to build one of the largest hydrogen production plants in Germany.
To be built in the Wunsiedel Energy Park in the north of Bavaria, the plant will have the initial capacity to produce more than 900 tonnes of hydrogen per year in its first phase, and 2,000 tonnes per year when fully expanded.
The plant will run solely on renewable energy and will be CO2-free. Groundbreaking is scheduled for the end of 2020 and commissioning at the end of 2021.
