Siemens Mobility will collaborate with its partners on the development and leasing of hydrogen-powered train solutions.
Following a Letter of Intent (LoI) signed with Tyczka Hydrogen in April (2024), they agreed with the Siemens Mobility subsidiary, Smart Train Lease, to ensure the transformation of railways to use hydrogen.
The LoI saw Siemens Mobility and Tyczka agree to develop solutions across the full supply chain, including hydrogen production, storage, distribution and refuelling, along with the delivery and maintenance of fuel cell trains. With the addition of Smart Train Lease, they can offer hydrogen-powered trains for rent.
