Shell wants to develop, build, own and operate a multi-modal hydrogen refuelling station in California – and it’s believed to be the world’s first.
The oil and gas company, through its Shell Oil Products US subsidiary, on Wednesday (August 11) received a $4m grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC) to support the development which aims to more than triple standard station capacity.
Further to that, the capital will support further hydrogen fuel cell demonstrations in rail and marine applications at ports across the sunshine state.
