Shell wants to meet the net for net zero carbon energy for the maritime sector through the development of scalable and safe liquified hydrogen shipping technologies.
The oil and gas major’s centre for maritime expertise, Shell International Trading and Shipping Company, today (Feb 8) said it has joined forces with technology firm GTT on the effort that will include the development of a hydrogen energy supply chain.
Focused on cryogenic containment systems for the storage and transportation of liquid gases, GGT will support Shell with the development of a preliminary liquid hydrogen carrier design and a liquid hydrogen cargo containment system for a mid-size liquid hydrogen carrier.
