Shell and Dutch renewable energy company Eneco’s plans to create a green hydrogen hub in the port of Rotterdam powered by wind energy have taken a step forward.
Under a consortium called CrossWind, the two companies won the tender to build and operate a third unsubsidised wind farm in the Dutch North Sea, in the Hollandse Kust (noord) Wind Farm Zone (HKNWFZ).
Shell is aiming to produce green hydrogen on the Tweede Maasvlakte using green electricity from wind power, which will come from the Hollandse Kust (noord) offshore wind farm.
