Swedish truck giant Scania has signed an agreement with H2 Green Steel for its hydrogen-produce steel for the building of its trucks in a bid to cut its carbon footprint from vehicle manufacturing.
The agreement comes as Scania’s highly ambitious targets to cut carbon emission from the most emission-intensive parts of its supply chain by 2030 edge ever closer.
Scania’s strategy sets the goals of using 100% green steel, 100% green batteries and 100% green cast iron in its vehicle production by the end of the decade. Although only focused on its European supply chain, Scania intends to extend the strategy into China and Latin America gradually.
