SAIC Motor Corporation and China Baowu Iron and Steel Group last week signed an agreement through which the two companies will focus on hydrogen utilisation, integrated materials for automobiles, smart supply and industrial finance.
Focusing on the requirements of the “Shanghai municipal action plan for promoting new-type infrastructure construction” for the hydrogen development plan, the two parties will also create a hydrogen energy industrial park and two hydrogen corridors.
According to the agreement, China Baowu will make full use of the advantages of hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, hydrogen transportation, hydrogen refuelling and other links to provide hydrogen energy guarantees and services for fuel cell stack and system research and development.
SAIC Motor will be responsible for the research and development and mass production planning of fuel cell vehicles, as well as developing a suitable fuel cell powered vehicles suitable for the required applications.
