One of the “world’s first” 100% hydrogen-capable gas turbine plants is set to be developed by RWE and Kawasaki in Germany as the nation ramps up its hydrogen capabilities.
The new project is set to be based in Lingen, the companies revealed today (Dec 9), and from 2024 onwards a 34MW plant could reconvert green hydrogen to power presenting a new path for sustainable renewable energy.
With the inclusion of hydrogen, renewable energy could be produced from the vast amounts of hydrogen currently being created in Germany with more expected to be generated in the future.
