RWE has agreed to support UK Oil & Gas’ (UKOG) underground hydrogen storage projects in Dorset and Yorkshire, the UK.
Under a letter of support (LOS), RWE will collaborate with the UKOG subsidiary, UK Energy Storage (UKEn), on the development of hydrogen storage sites.
RWE has planned hydrogen plants in the Solent Cluster, Didcot and Teesside, which are in geographic and planned pipeline proximity to UKEn’s storage projects. This will present the opportunity to store hydrogen produced from excess renewable power for future conversion to power during high demands.
