RWE has selected Técnicas Reunidas and Ansaldo Energia to develop a hydrogen-ready combined cycle plant in Germany.
The 800MW plant will utilise Ansaldo Energia’s GT36 turbine, which can generate electricity with up to 50% volume hydrogen mixed with natural gas and the potential to reach 100% hydrogen.
The awarding of the contract by RWE will see Técnicas Reunidas work on the engineering and permitting phase of the project and oversee the engineering of the project, the supply of auxiliary equipment and the construction, commissioning and start-up of the plant.
