RONN Motor Group has established a dedicated logistics division that will launch Class 3 through to Class 6 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (HFCEV) for logistic medium-duty trucks to serve the urban delivery market globally.
The zero-emission trucks, designed for cargo, courier and delivery services, will travel more than 300-plus miles on a single fueling with hydrogen storage of approximately 40kg. A second storage option will allow for a range of 500-plus miles.
The RONN truck line will include cab-over, box delivery, cutaway delivery, walk-through parcel delivery, and drop roof walk-through parcel delivery trucks. The group anticipates delivering prototypes Q4 and showcasing vehicles to US fleets Q2 2024.
According to its website, preliminary truck specifications are expected to feature a 300-320 kW electric motor and it is evaluating a two-speed transmission, 90-100 kW PEM fuel cell, and small Li-ion battery to capture regenerative braking. Hydrogen storage is 35-45kg at 350 bar.
