Rolls-Royce and SOWITEC have agreed to cooperate on developing up to 500MW of electrolysis capacity across Power-to-X (PtX) projects by 2028, for the production green hydrogen and e-fuels.
The companies intend to develop plants that will use renewable energy sources to generate electrical power that will be used to produce hydrogen using mtu’s (Rolls-Royce’s Power Systems business unit) electrolysers.
H2 View understands the hydrogen produced from the projects is intended to be used as fuel for fuel cells and hydrogen engines, to produce industrial feedstock, and to produce e-fuels for marine, aviation, agriculture, mining, and data centre power.
