Hydrogen has been at the forefront of space travel since the first Moon mission in 1969. Fast-forward to the present day, it is somewhat fitting that hydrogen is now beckoning the next milestone in space travel – commercially lifting people to the stars as early as 2024.
US-based space corporation Space Perspective is embarking on its mission to bring commercial space travel to people that can afford the life changing experience. Space Perspective’s ‘Neptune One’ allows up to eight passengers to travel 100,000ft up to space in a state-of-the-art, hydrogen-filled balloon the size of a football stadium for $125,000.
Passengers can enjoy 360-degree views of Earth from 20 miles (30km) above the planet in a luxurious six-hour flight, with Space Perspective expected to start taking reservations as soon as late 2024.
