The US Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded Redox Power Systems $1m of funding to develop the H2@Scale concept.
The H2@Scale concept will advance hydrogen storage and infrastructure technologies and identify innovative concepts for hydrogen production and utilisation including grid resiliency.
“Redox is developing a thin film concept to enable green hydrogen production from pure stem using electricity from renewable resources,” said Sean Bishop, Redox Principle Engineering leading the project.
“The project goal is to reduce the cost of pure stem electrolysis by >40% by using a multi-layer thin film concept to overcome problems of efficiency and durability faced by ceramic electrolysers.”
