Plans to trial the use of hydrogen for domestic heating in Redcar, UK, have been scrapped by the government.
Despite firm local opposition to the planned Hydrogen Village trial, Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the company due to be undertaking the pilot said, the government’s decision was due to there not being “adequate low-carbon hydrogen to supply the Redcar Hydrogen Community.”
