Red Bull and ORECA to develop hydrogen class chassis for 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans

Red Bull Advanced Technologies (RBAT) and ORECA have joined forces to develop the chassis for the new hydrogen-powered racing car set to partake in the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Announced today (25th Jan) the collaboration follows the Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s (ACO) call for tenders for the exclusive supply of the chassis. As a result, RBAT and ORECA pooled their expertise in a bid-winning combination.

Under the partnership, ORECA will draw on its expertise of its Design Office and its production skills as well as its endurance racing knowledge and experience. RBAT will bring its expertise in racing car design, very much focused on aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, simulation and energy recovery optimisation.

As a first task, the companies will develop a detailed feasibility study for the vehicle concept.
