The Queensland state budget has reflected the major role that hydrogen could have in the state’s economy in the future with a new A$2bn ($1.54bn) Queensland Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Jobs Fund.
Within the budget, A$2m ($1.54m) has been allocated as part of an overall contribution of $20m for the completion of the Hydrogen Training Centre of Excellence at the Queensland apprenticeship centre at Beenleigh.
In addition to this, a new A$2bn ($1.54bn) Queensland Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Jobs Fund will be established to expand on the previous A$500m ($384m) Renewable Energy Fund.
