Qair Group and Airbus have agreed to jointly structure the sustainable aviation fuels (e-SAF) sector in the French Occitanie region.
Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two companies will identify commercial opportunities for a facility capable of producing the hydrogen-based alternative to jet fuel.
The collaboration will enable Qair to contribute to the deployment of hydrogen infrastructure for aviation and the development of an ecosystem for e-SAF, particularly in Occitanie.
Both Qair and Airbus will create a regional e-SAF ecosystem as a first step, before expanding to nationwide projects for renewable hydrogen production and e-fuels, with the collaboration covering everything from hydrogen and e-SAF supply chain to production and airport delivery.
