Production at Sinopec’s 20,000 tonne green hydrogen plant begins

Chinese state-owned Sinopec has begun producing green hydrogen at its 20,000 tonne-per-year plant in Xinjang.

According to the company, the plant located in Kuqa city is the first solar green hydrogen facility with capacity to produce more than 10,000 tonnes annually in the People’s Republic, which would make it the largest green hydrogen facility in the nation.

The facility also boasts storage and transmission capacity of 210,000 cubic metres and 28,000 cubic metres respectively and will be used to supply Sinopec’s refinery in Tahe to replace grey hydrogen.
