Canadian-headquartered PowerTap Hydrogen Capital Corp. has entered a hydrogen purchase agreement (HPA) with a “major” fuel cell electric vehicle OEM to help expand a North American refuelling network.
The two companies plan to collaborate to encourage the adoption of the OEM’s Class 8 hydrogen-powered trucks by deploying PowerTap’s onsite hydrogen production system.
Under the HPA, PowerTap will develop an initial hydrogen fuelling station in California, US, while any additional stations will be under separate HPAs. Each facility will provide onside hydrogen production and dispensing to support the unnamed OEM’s customers.
