PowerCell Sweden AB has received an order for a MS-100 fuel cell system from RWTH Aachen University for installation and tests in a medium-duty truck.
The system will be used within the LiVe Project, a project funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Construction and Nuclear Safety, which is working to develop a cost-efficient electric drive-train solution of medium-duty distribution trucks.
The MS-100 will be installed in an 18tonne distribution truck to evaluate the use of fuel cell technology in distribution trucks.
“The German Government and the German automotive industry are making a broad effort to evaluate opportunities within electrification using fuel cells and hydrogen,” said Per Wassén, CEO of PowerCell.
