PowerCell has received a first order for its M2Power 250 hydrogen-based methanol fuel cell system from an unnamed European shipyard for SEK 150m ($14.8m).
Under the agreement with one of the continent’s “leading” shipyards, the Swedish fuel cell provider will install 2MW of its recently launched fuel cell solution, once it’s delivered in 2029.
PowerCell describes the M2Power 250 system as an all-in-one solution that combines a methanol reformer and fuel cells into a single unit, simplifying fuel cell integration for maritime applications.
