PowerCell and Soltech to develop stationary energy solutions

PowerCell Sweden AB has today signed a cooperation agreement with energy solutions provider Soltech Group to develop stationary energy solutions based on fuel cell and solar technologies.

The partnership will see the two companies conduct a feasibility study on a stationary power solution which will hopefully secure a power supply for Amokabel AB, a manufacturer of cable and overhead conductors.

As part of the study, PowerCell and Soltech will evaluate whether solar energy in combination with hydrogen storage can solves Amokabel’s problem with grid capacity, due to the company’s increased growth and production.

Andreas Bodén, Director Sales and Aftermarket, said, “The increasing need of energy, and sustainable energy in particular, makes the combination of solar energy and fuel cells extremely interesting. We therefore see a great potential for stationary fuel cell power generation based on a locally produced a stored hydrogen.”
