Plug Power has agreed to supply 3GW of electrolysers to Allied Green Ammonia’s (AGA) green hydrogen project in Australia’s Northern Territory.
Under the framework agreement, Plug will provide proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyser solutions from its New York gigafactory from late 2026 or early 2027, to enable the production of almost one million tonnes of ammonia per year.
The plant, expected to be “one of the world’s largest green ammonia production facilities,” will replace steam methane reforming (SMR) technologies with green hydrogen generated via Plug’s electrolysers.
