Uniper has selected Plug Power to design a 100MW electrolyser package for its energy hub in the Port of Rotterdam, Netherlands, with plans for green hydrogen production to start by 2026.
Set to be installed at Uniper’s Maasvlakte Energy Hub, the 100MW of Plug technology will make up the first instalment of up to 500MW of electrolysis capacity, which is hoped to be achieved by 2030 at the latest.
Under the agreement, H2 View understands Plug will deliver 10 prefabricated PEM electrolyser array’s to Uniper’s flagship hydrogen project, dubbed H2Maassvlakte, upon the company’s positive final investment decision (FID).
