Plug Power kicks off liquid green hydrogen production in Georgia

Plug Power has started the production of liquid green hydrogen from its 40MW plant in Georgia, US.

Utilising eight 5MW PEM electrolysers, the site in Woodbine, Georgia, is designed to produce 15 tonnes of hydrogen per day. Onsite liquefaction equipment then super cools the gas for delivery to customers through Plug’s logistics network.

Said to be the largest installation of its kind in the US, Plug completed the plant’s construction in 18 months. It had already been operating a gaseous hydrogen pilot plant in Georgia using a 5MW electrolyser for over a year.
