New York’s Rochester area will soon be home to Plug Power’s PEM stack and electrolyser innovation centre, the hydrogen fuel cell solutions provider confirmed today (19th Jan).
Expected to be online by mid-2021, the innovation centre will mark a significant expansion in the company’s production and manufacturing capabilities for fuel cells and electrolysers.
The facility will also house research and development for membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) and fuel cell stacks.
Through the centre, Plug Power said it will invest $125m into the local economy, create 375 jobs and bring material and component suppliers to the region.
