Equinor has today (Jan 21) submitted plans for its 600MW Hydrogen to Humber (H2H) hydrogen production facility in Saltend, UK.
Focused on low carbon hydrogen production with carbon capture, the development could help industries at Saltend Chemicals Park and the East Yorkshire area to reduce carbon emissions by nearly one million tonnes annually.
The site will also play a key role in the UK hitting its carbon emissions targets.
Already, Equinor’s plans have been backed by six prospective industrial operators who have inked various agreements for the development and commercialisation of the project. Centrica Storage, INEOS Acetyls, Pensana, Triton Power, Vital Energi and Vivergo Fuel have been unveiled as the six companies.
