PHINA announces successful hydrogen ICE testing

PHINA’s hydrogen internal combustion engine (ICE) has completed a 1,000km journey in 12 hours, starting and ending in Blois, France.

Conducted in Q1 2024, the test “showcases the potential for hydrogen as a cleaner and viable alternative to ICEs that use traditional fuels,” according to a statement released by the North American solutions and components provider.

The tests demonstrated the capability of a hydrogen ICE powertrain for transient drivability, practical performance and adherence to stringent emission and safety standards.
