Phelan Green Energy is set to invest over $2bn to develop a green ammonia production facility in Peru, according to reports.
The South Africa-headquartered company was granted the use of 4,000 hectares in the Arequipa region, after Chairman, Paschal Phelan reached an agreement with Peruvian Prime Minister, Gustavo Adrianzén and his cabinet.
In addition, Phelan Green Energy will have access to a 50-hectare site to establish a processing plant in the coastal port of Matarani, after the project was approved as a “Necesidad Publica” by the Regional State Council of Peru.
