Energy giant Petronas has joined forces with utilities company Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to advance studies for hydrogen business development in Malaysia.
The newly signed Joint Feasibility Study Agreement (JFSA) builds upon an earlier signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as the two look to accelerate the deployment of clean technologies such a hydrogen and carbon capture to decarbonise the region’s energy sector.
Through the study, TNB, Petronas, and its clean energy subsidiary Gentari, will explore the challenges and opportunities presented by the deployment of green hydrogen, with hopes it will enable the exploration of solutions, the identification of potential green hydrogen offtakers and development of a collaborative framework between the two companies.
