A new petition has called on the UK Government to support the development of hydrogen refuelling stations in the country in a bid to give the public a choice of zero emission vehicles.
Petition creator Anthony Leech believes the government should support the conversion or installation of at least the first 100 garage forecourts nationwide, to allow the public to switch to zero emission vehicles without having to change their entire lifestyle.
“A government grant available to the first 100 garages would encourage early adoption,” he wrote in the description.
“Whilst battery EVs are suitable for many scenarios they are not suitable for all. For families with no home-charging, or want to drive long distances with fast refill, towing, or needing larger family vehicles, fuel-cell cars offers an emissions-free solution.”
