The Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association (PNWH2) has become the second US hydrogen hub to secure the first phase of funding from the US Department of Energy (DOE), to launch the hub officially.
Having received an initial $27.5m from an earmarked $1bn, the hub has said the funds will be used for initial planning, permitting and analysis to “ensure that the overall hub concept is technologically and financially viable.”
One of the seven hubs selected by DOE for a combined $7bn of Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funding, the PNWH2 hub encompasses Washington, Oregon and Montana.
