Operators GRTgaz, GRTgaz Deutschland, OGE to convert European pipeline to hydrogen

GRTgaz, GRTgaz Deutschland and OGE have confirmed intentions to cooperate along the west European hydrogen corridor.

The companies will support the future transport of hydrogen in the region by adapting their natural gas systems to enable the transport of hydrogen by 2030.

The low carbon hydrogen will be produced mainly from solar and wind energy on the Iberian Peninsula in Spain and Portugal, and then delivered to France through an offshore pipeline crossing in the Mediterranean Sea from Barcelona to Marseille.
