The Government of Ontario has announced plans to establish a Hydrogen Innovation Fund that will invest CAD$15m ($11.2m) to kickstart and develop hydrogen opportunities in the Canadian province.
Over the next three year, the fund will hope to encourage the uptake of hydrogen in Ontario’s clean energy system, including hydrogen electricity storage, marking a milestone in the implementation of the provinces low-carbon hydrogen strategy.
H2 View understands the fund projects are expected to support electricity supply, capacity, storage, and demand management, as well as supporting growth in Ontario’s hydrogen economy.
