Oil and gas industry outpacing hydrogen in workforce talent attraction, says LRQA’s Halliday

Many new professionals are either entering the oil and gas industry directly or returning to traditional energy projects, drawn by better financial incentives, LRQA’s Leanne Halliday said during an H2 View webinar.

Taking part in a recent global recruitment survey, the Global Head for Energy and Renewables at LRQA found that many professionals are shifting back to traditional energy projects, driven by the availability in jobs and higher salaries in oil and gas.

“What we’ve got to remember is that we’ve got all these exciting hydrogen and renewable projects going on; they exist within a global landscape of rising energy demand and therefore oil and gas projects are going ahead and taking a lot of the talent,” Halliday said.
