Ohmium International has been awarded its first ‘Hydrogen Generator Using Water Electrolysis’ certification from global safety organisation, UL Solutions.
The California-based PEM electrolyser manufacturer has said the certification “highlights dedication to safety and reliability and demonstrates Ohmium leadership in the rapidly evolving hydrogen energy sector.”
PEM electrolyser models LCC, LWC, LHC, LPC, LTC and UIB have been certified by UL Solutions after extensive design, component and verification testing.
The review was conducted in accordance with UL 2264A, outlining standards for water electrolysis water electrolysis type hydrogen generators, covering safety, performance, testing and risk management requirements.
Arne Ballantine, Ohmium’s CEO, claimed he was proud with the certification, adding, “It is a concrete affirmation of our team’s commitment to safety, reliability and operational excellence.
“Ohmium’s purpose is to enable customers around the world to transition to green hydrogen quickly, easily, and cost-effectively. The UL Certification is an important milestone for safety assurance, making it even easier for our customers to achieve their goals,” he added.
“Ohmium is the first company to successfully complete the extensive and rigorous testing this UL 2264A requires, and we salute their commitment to safety and their efforts to empower the energy transition,” explained Kenneth Boyce, Vice-President of Principal Engineering in the Industrial Testing, Inspection and Certification group at UL Solutions.
In July, Ohmium launched its 2GW factory in India, designed to produce fully assembled PEM electrolyser systems. Located in Doddaballapura, the factory will allow the firm to deliver solutions to customers across India and around the world.
