Norwegian Hydrogen powers Veidekke’s asphalt plant with green energy

Veidekke has chosen Norwegian Hydrogen to supply its newly converted asphalt production plant with green hydrogen.

Located in Ålesund, Norway, the plant is scheduled to use green hydrogen produced in Hellesylt as an energy source for the heating process in asphalt production – commonly used in road construction industry.

Earlier this year, Norwegian Hydrogen also provided Veidekke’s other asphalt plant in Kristiansund with the low-carbon fuel, making it the “world’s first” factory capable of sustainable asphalt production.
