Norway-Germany hydrogen pipeline is ‘technically feasible’, DENA-Gassco study finds

A hydrogen pipeline from Norway to Germany is “technically feasible” by 2030 according to the German Energy Agency (DENA) and Norwegian state-owned Gassco.

The conclusion comes from a joint feasibility study, conducted on behalf of the German and Norwegian governments, to explore the potential of a hydrogen value chain from Norway to Germany.

In January this year (2023), the German Vice-Chancellor and Norwegian Prime Minister announced plans to explore establishing a large-scale hydrogen pipeline between the two countries.
