J.B. Hunt Transport has announced it will purchase 13 of Nikola’s zero emission Class 8 trucks, including 10 battery-electric and three hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles.
The vehicles are expected to be delivered in August (2023) to support J.B. Hunt as it begins to focus on its sustainability efforts and reducing the intensity of its carbon emission. The company plans to reduce its carbon emission intensity by 32% by 2034.
The trucks will be located at facilities servicing J.B. Hunt’s key routes, such as in the greater Los Angeles and Phoenix areas in the US. Nikola’s hydrogen arm, HYLA, will supply the hydrogen and fuelling infrastructure.
