Nikola and OPAL Fuels have joined forces to co-develop and co-market hydrogen refuelling stations in North America to support the accelerated adoption of heavy-duty fuel cell trucks in the region.
Inking a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today (Sep 30), the duo said they will explore the use of renewable natural gas (RNG) as a fuel source to lower the carbon intensity of hydrogen produced for the new infrastructure.
With Nikola’s Tre fuel cell electric vehicles set to hit the North American market in 2030, the new stations support roll-out. The development will also combine Nikola’s bundled lease offer, which includes a vehicle, vehicle service, miniatous and fuel supply, with OPAL Fuels’ technology.
