A new consortium is looking to deliver high-end and cutting-edge solutions for hydrogen storage as part of an effort to support the energy transition towards a low-zero carbon economy.
Based in Austria, and formed of The HOT Energy Group, RED Drilling & Services and Chemieanlagenbau Chemnitz, the consortium this week (24th Feb) unveiled a strategic partnership name of Underground Energy Storage Technologies.
As well as hydrogen storage, the group will also look at natural gas and carbon dioxide.
Commenting on the collaboration, Diethard Kratzer, CEO HOT Energy Group, said, “The UEST consortium is a centre of excellence and trusted partner for underground storage developers and operators, as it builds on decades of expertise and offers a well-rounded service portfolio – from prospect assessment and operational planning, drilling, workover and well engineering solutions, all the way through to surface facilities ‘concept to handover.”
