New York is exploring the potential role of green hydrogen as part of its decarbonisation strategy and goal to reduce emissions by 85% by 2050.
As part of such effort, Governor Andrew Cuomo on Thursday (July 8) said the state will make $12.5m of funding available for long duration energy storage technologies and demonstration projects that may include green hydrogen.
The state is teaming up with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory to support its decision making, as well as pulling in expertise from various other industry experts in the field of hydrogen energy.
